Fcukers Ride the Current on Ö

The NYC duo translate their sweat-drenched live energy into a debut that moves with effortless chalance.

By the time Fcukers arrive with their debut album Ö, they already feel fully formed. The NYC duo have spent the last few years building up a reputation on sweat-drenched live sets and a brand of effortless cool that can’t be faked. Ö captures that energy and finds Shanny Wise (vocals) and Jackson Walker Lewis (bass, keys, production) simply existing in their element. That self-assurance becomes the album’s driving force.

From the opening pulse of “Beatback” through to the late-night haze of “Feel Like Real,” Ö moves with intention. House rhythms form the foundation, but the duo weave in dub, dancehall, and flashes of pop in ways that feel instinctual rather than strategic. There’s a looseness to it; beats that feel lived in rather than lab-built, giving the record a pulse that mirrors their live shows.

Their early singles, “L.U.C.K.Y,” “Play Me,” and “I Like It Like That,” shimmer with precision, sharpened by sleek production touches and a clarity that keeps the hooks locked in. But its deeper cuts like “Butterflies,” and “if you wanna party, come over to my house” that capture the band’s real chemistry, grounding the record in something tactile and alive.

Fcukers emerged at a time when club music is surging back into the cultural forefront, but Ö doesn’t feel reactive. It feels participatory. The band aren’t chasing relevance, they are part of the current, moving confidently within it. and that ease might be their greatest strength.
