Not every industry event needs to feel like one — and RésHAU has built its reputation on resisting that instinct.

Landing at W Toronto on Thursday, March 26 from 5 to 9 p.m., this JUNO Week edition of the recurring electronic music series moves with a different kind of energy. It’s an electronic music networking event, but one that leans closer to a night out in a room full of artists and music industry professionals.

Founded by Fiona Ham, Chair of the JUNO category for Underground Dance Single of the Year, RésHAU (from the French word for “network”) was created as an open platform for connection across Canada’s electronic music ecosystem. Artists, producers, media, and industry all move through the same space, reflecting a scene that’s long been global in influence but still carving out recognition at home.

Soundtracking the evening is Toronto-born, Montreal-based producer Jordan Gardner, a JUNO nominee for Electronic Album of the Year as one half of ÈBONY. His sound pulls from Detroit and Chicago’s soulful futurism while folding in global club influences—equally suited to the dancefloor and deeper listening.

Centred around this year’s JUNO nominees in Underground Dance Single, Electronic Album, and Dance Recording of the Year, RésHAU keeps the focus where it belongs, which is on the people shaping what electronic music in Canada actually looks like right now.
