Full Circle Boys on What It Means to Be a Boy Band in 2025

With their new single “Free99,” the next-gen pop collective reflects on grit, growth, and keeping it real.

If the term boy band once meant choreographed pop perfection, frosted tips, and matching denim fits, Full Circle Boys are proving that 2025 plays by different rules. The five-piece — Jagger Moon, James Herron, Sean Garrity, Dossan Bell, and Oliver Hincy — may have the powerhouse vocals and cinematic choreography you’d expect, but their creative process runs on something much less manufactured: conviction.

Formed in 2021 under the guidance of choreographer Keone Madrid, FCB have built a following that’s equal parts pop fandom and creative community. Their viral dance clips and slick visuals might grab the algorithm, but behind the polish is a crew of artists who are still figuring out how to grow up — and glow up — in public. With more than 18 million likes on TikTok and co-signs from the likes of Justin Timberlake, the Full Circle Boys are taking the blueprint of early-2000s pop and bending it toward something more human.

Ahead of their second single “Free99,” out Oct. 24, RANGE asked each member to share what being in a boy band means to them right now in a world where major labels will chew artists up and spit them out in search of viral hits. As it turns out, being a boy band — to Full Circle at least — is a lot less about fame and far more about family, grind, and grace.

James Herron — The Grind Never Lies

“When people see a boyband, they usually see the end result: the performance, the visuals, the choreography… But what they don’t see is the grind that builds it. For me, that grind is what defines us. In order to make it in this industry you need to familiarize yourself with what it means to have grit. Grit is the quiet part of the process, the hours of rehearsal, the failed takes, the doubt, the moments when you have to push past exhaustion and remind yourself why you started. We grew up as dancers, so we learned early on that growth lives in repetition and resilience. In a world that moves fast and rewards instant results, grit is how we stay steady. It’s not about perfection, it’s about persistence. That’s what keeps FCB moving forward, even when no one’s watching.”

Jagger Moon — Do It ‘Cause You Love It

“I think truly the only way for someone to make it in the music industry today (I’m acting as if I’ve made it in the music industry. I guess this is more of how I want to make it in the music industry) is not caring about the numbers and remembering why you’re doing it. You should do it cause you love it, that you simply cannot exist without doing it. You shouldn’t do it cause you want to be famous. Also, study the greats and become greater. Michael Jackson said that, and he is the greatest of all time. So I’m going to listen to him.”

Sean Garrity — Take the Shot

“A quote that I always come back to is ‘you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. – Wayne Gretzky’ – Michael Scott. All jokes aside, this rings very true in my journey. I try to stay relentless in my pursuit of improvement. Constantly networking with creatives that inspire me and pushing my comfort zone makes old practices feel new. As an independent American boyband we are in uncharted territory when it comes to any modern success stories. On one hand it can feel liberating having so much creative freedom and control over our destiny. While on the flip side, lack of guidance can weigh heavy when the future feels uncertain. My advice to aspiring artists: constantly find new inspiration and be restless in your pursuit of improvement.”

Oliver Hincy — Stay Human

“I have absolutely no place to give advice on making it in this industry. However I can say that people will gravitate towards your music and art if you love what you do and are consistent with creating. Another important thing is to let people know that you are human, you mess up, and you are not perfect. And last thing I would say is to love your fans — they are there to support you, I love all of our fans and look at them like one big family.”

Oliver Hincy

Dossan Bell — Redefining the ‘Boy Band’

“I think being a BOYBAND in 2025 means more than just being a part of a, quote ‘BOYBAND.’ In 2025 we really have an opportunity to create our own path of what that means. I feel like with us especially we make it clear that we are artists and we are art driven with every decision we make.

We definitely haven’t made it in this industry yet, but honestly I think when having a career in the music business it’s best to stay focused on the reason why you make music and create art. If you’re having fun and love what you’re doing that is all that matters.”

Dossan Bell

Whether they’re riffing on Gretzky quotes or manifesting MJ-level greatness, the Full Circle Boys aren’t chasing nostalgia — they’re rewriting the playbook. Their new single “Free99” drops October 23 at midnight EST, streaming everywhere, with a debut EP coming soon. Until then, consider this the start of a new era in boy-band evolution — one built on grit, goofiness, and going full circle.
