After a weekend celebrating Canada’s most influential musicians, here’s what actually stuck with me from my first year covering the iconic awards show.
The creative manifestation of visual artist/vocalist Claire Voy and multi-instrumentalist Ciccio Spagnolo, SHEBAD, arrives with its debut record Music is the Answer.
Based out of Guelph, the group delivers a mix of jazzy neo-soul and indie R&B packaged into a curious 10-track LP, fleshed out with sultry offerings like their charting single “Black Walnut” or nostalgia-soaked songs such as “Waves.” While we wait for more from the five-piece, Music is the Answer keeps us blissfully occupied, 37 minutes at a time.
