Loig Morin Clears The Skies on “Elle est loin”
Ahead of his fourth and final seasons-inspired album, the Vancouver electro-pop singer and producer is ready for summer.

Completing a cycle that he started all the way back in 2021, Vancouver-based electropop, indie pop and new wave experimentalist Loig Morin is finally looking towards the summer. With an accompanying announcement that L’ete (Summer), the fourth and final in a series of albums inspired by the seasons, will be dropping in late May, Morin previews the upcoming set of tunes with lead single “Elle est loin.”
After a harsher, more synthetic and electronic approach to his previous, winter-inspired work, the single feels like the sun breaking through the clouds in contrast. Morin has always been a connoisseur of catchy, bright and melodic pop tracks with big hooks, and he returns to this zone complete with crunchy, almost jangle-pop inspired guitars underneath. As he sings about summer love, Morin’s emotive vocal performance always manages to be captivating even if you don’t speak the same language – by the time the track turns into a group vocal singalong of na-na-nas by its conclusion, you’ll be ready to fast-track past spring and hit the beach.
