With There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn’t There In The Light, the veteran vocalist leans into intimate, searching folk.
Toronto noise-makers Odonis Odonis are officially part of the Royal Mountain Records family. Alongside the signing, the band has announced their self-titled new album—set for release November 14—and shared its searing lead single “Hijacked,” complete with a video.
“Hijacked” is a dark, shimmering anthem that channels the tension of a world on the edge. “It reflects on a pivotal moment for humanity—a warning against surrendering to destructive, regressive forces,” the band explains. “The future is still unwritten, but only if we refuse to be hijacked by fear and chaos.”
Across their career, Odonis Odonis have shapeshifted from blown-out surf-punk to brooding post-punk to pummeling industrial rave music, each album another room in their sprawling sonic nightclub. This new self-titled record feels like a convergence of those identities—bridging the bleak beauty of early goth and shoegaze with the menace of their industrial phase. Lead track “Hijacked” shimmers with flecks of New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies while still packing the weight of a basement mosh pit.
Pre-orders are live now, including a limited edition translucent black ice vinyl – the closest match to the colour of your dark, black soul.
