Toronto’s Sabrina Carrizo Sztainbok repositions herself into the spotlight today with her art-pop solo project Huxlii. Perhaps best known — until now — as the bassist in Luna Li‘s live band, Sztainbok just dropped “so this is it,” the lead single from her upcoming EP, Odds and Ends, but Mostly Ends.
Arriving Jan. 17 via Majesticsilk Records (Maddee Ritter, Jeremie Albino, Michael Rault), this five-track EP marks a significant evolution from her 2021 release, scraps. Stepping into a studio for the first time, Sztainbok refines her sound without abandoning he DIY spirit.
Co-produced by Nadia Dostovalova, “so this is it,” comes paired with a music video directed by Isaac Roberts, blending melodic finesse with gritty punk energy. It kicks off with jagged guitar lines before bursting into a massive, riff-heavy chorus, showcasing Sztainbok’s dynamic range from glossy alto to an emotional howl.
